Learn how to integrate the different elements of digital media (sound, text, speech, graphics and video) into one unified effective digital multi-media package. This course is a no fluff, results and job-based training program, designed to educate students in the essential techniques and skills required to achieve corporate level proficiency in designing enterprise grade multi-media communications and advertising packages.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

Moving from creation to design – the transition from idea to reality.

  • Now that you have a perfect idea of your creation in mind, what are the best tools to use to bring that idea into reality.

  • Managing difficult and unreasonable clients.
  • Storyboarding your design
  • How to manage indecisive clients.
  • Determining the appropriate destination media for your design – print, internet, poster, bill board, television? – optimizing your design process from point of creation.
  • How to design using a Modular design process that saves time, effort and can be repurposed for future projects.
  • NO – there is no need to completely redesign the wheel every project – how to use technology to your advantage during the creation by saving effort.
  • Guerrilla tactics – rapid prototyping, how to beat your competition to the punch by out-designing them.

Week Three

The design processes – Optimizing individual media elements – Text, Speech, Graphics, Video and Sound then integrating the elements into a unified production multimedia package.

  • Designing the speech element of the multimedia package – the software audio tools needed to optimize speech elements.
  • Designing the graphics elements of the multimedia package – the software tools needed to optimize graphics elements.
  • Designing the Video elements of the multimedia package – the software tools needed to optimize video elements.
  • Designing the Sound/Music elements of the multimedia package – the software tools needed to optimize Sound/Music elements.
Week Four

Bringing it all together – Integrating the multimedia elements into a unified package that informs, impresses and meets the needs of the client/target audience.

  • Configuring multimedia packages for more than one delivery platform.
  • The real power of the PDF format.
  • Pre-flight check for high resolution print work.

  • Maximizing quality for specific file size constraints – things to be aware of in the creation stage.
